About Penelope Chilvers
Designer Penelope Chilvers’s interest in traditional Spanish craftsmanship was sparked on childhood vacations in Girona where she first encountered handmade espadrilles and raw-edged, bull hide moccasins. In 2005, she crafted the first shoes in her namesake collection, inspired by classic Spanish riding boots. Since then, her line, stocked with timeless, made-to-last beauties, has become known for its artistic style, traditional production and going-with-the-grain philosophy – enhancing the natural textures and imperfections of quality materials, allowing them to age uniquely and beautifully.
